2009 Hi. Vacation Bob here just got back from our
cruise on the new Carnival Splendor, what a ship big big and lots of
colored cirles.I don't know if any of you have gotten even a touch
of dizziness or nausea on a cruise but the last thing you want to
look at is circles lots of sick people on this cruise. Lets start
with the food something has happened to the food on Carnival at one
time they had the best cooks and cuts on meat on the seas, now the
food on this cruise had no taste and the meats well I asked the
waiter to ask the cook if he used a WIP on the horse before he
cooked my steak. The only place to get a good meal way the outside
grill or the deli. I rate the food poor. This
cruise stopped at San Juan first to.bad its was a night stop with
not much time there are some great places to go in San Juan, but not
at night. Second stop was St. Thomas one of my favorite island for
shopping. If your looking for a new watch or camera this is the
place to go. Then we were off to the Dominican Republic don't even
get off the ship first they hate Americans and it seems every shop
you go into double there prices to Americans. last stop was good old
Nassau what can I say. You hit the beach or you go to the
casinos great stopping spot just remember every thing you by in
Nassau when it comes to food will cost you double what you pay in
the states. Well, back to the ship the cabin was great our room
Stewart was the best we ever had. the staff was friendly, but the
ship was not that clean the bathrooms on all the deck were never
clean and I had to mention it numerous times. The show were good but
not great and the casino was always packed. That's it for now next
trip coming up is back to Las Vegas for a week I need a vacation.
December 29, 2008 Hi all just got back from Las Vegas and boy what trip we had. Lets start with three inches of snow. Thank god it didn't stick around for long. Nobody knows how to drive in snow out there. Well we stayed at the Wynn's and had a great time. The rooms are all suites and service is the best on the strip. We went to see Blue Man Group and sat in the front row (I had my parker on) it was a blast. I'm glad to be home for a while, next stop is a cruise for seven days on the new Carnival Splendor. I'll let you all know now it was when we get back. Happy vacationing to all.
November 6, 2008 WELL, VACATION BOB IS BACK FROM HIS WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE ON CARNIVAL LIBERTY. LET ME TELL YOU ALL THIS IS THE MOST ELEGANT SHIP IN THE FLEET, THEY JUST GET BIGGER AND BETTER. OUR FIRST STOP WAS COZUMEL MEXICO WE WERE THERE FOR 18 HR. THIS GAVE ME TIME TO EXPLORE ALL THE STORE DOWNTOWN WERE YOU CAN FIND GREAT PRICES ON SILVER JEWELRY. WE STOPPED BY MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT PONCHOS BACK YARD FOR LUNCH. BEING A REGULAR THERE 24 TIMES IN THE LAST 25 YRS. THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND THE TEQUILA WAS EVEN BETTER. OUR NEXT STOP WAS THE CAYMAN ISLAND AND OFF THE HELL WE GO, THAT'S THE TOWN OF HELL. YOU CAN'T GO TO THE CAYMANS WITHOUT SEEING HELL. THE ISLAND IS VERY SMALL BUT THE BEACH IS SANDY WHITE AND CLEAR BLUE WATERS YOU CAN'T ASK FOR ANY BETTER. IF YOU LIKE RUM TAKE THE TOUR TO THE RUM CAKE FACTORY AND SAMPLE ALL THE DIFFERENT CAKES AND RUMS, THEY CARRIED ME OUT. .OUR LAST STOP WAS OCHO RIOS JAMAICA WE STARTED OUT WITH A WALK TO THE BEACH AND ENDED AT THE LOCAL CASINO THANK YOU JAMAICA FOR THIS WEEKS PAY CHECK. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND LOVED THE BEEF PATTIES AND COCOA BREAD. THE BEST PART OF THIS STOP WAS GOING ON THE RIDE COOL RUNNING THIS IS THE JAMAICAN BOBSLED RIDE IT WAS A BLAST. October 21, 2008 Just got back for sunny Las Vegas. My wife and I had a great time. We stayed at 2 great casinos on the strip. First we stopped at the new Planet Hollywood, the suites were beautiful with great views of the strip. This hotel casino has one of the best dinner buffet in Vegas. Then for the second half of our trip we stayed at Caesar's my favorite.The weather was great 70 to 80 degrees in the daytime. The shows are always first class and the food is the best in the U.S. Or next vacation starts this Sat. were off to Miami to board the Carnival Liberty for a week.
